The 36 still frames presented here are from my Flash animation, The Distinctions Blur, which is comprised of transformed images rooted in paintings by Alfred Eaker and photographs of Legs Malone. This gallery consists of 18 Alfred Eaker transformations and 18 Legs Malone transformations. Some transformations resemble the original image, while others bear no resemblance at all. What drew me to Alfred Eaker’s paintings and the photographs of Legs Malone? A feeling of transcendence, that there was something lurking inside and around the edges of surface representations, something beautiful. For me the nature of beauty is a great mystery and tapping into that mystery has always been my aim as a digital artist.
