These ten short pieces represent an evolution in my melding of text and image on Illumination Gallery. I am not getting away from my initial aim of combining text and image via web animation; rather, I am expanding on the possibilities of the admixture of text and animation on a web page. Herein I was very much inspired by the vibrantly rich poetry community on MySpace, specifically by the MySpace profile pages of Lance Strate and Blackbird, which taught me how to harness certain inherent qualities of web pages in writing for the web. These animations are a humble beginning at incorporating animation into that process. And as much as I was inspired by online poetry, I was even more inspired by Insectavora, a star of the Coney Island Circus Sideshow. Insectavora is Angelica, who also has a musical career with a band called Paint The Walls Red. For me she is the perfect muse, a woman whose image embodies sensual design.
